What Happens During an Abortion?

(pregnancy termination)

Procedures:

Both medication and in-clinic abortions are very safe and very common.

Early term abortions can consist of either a medication abortion (abortion pills) taken up to 10-11 weeks after last period or an in-clinic, aspiration procedure up to 14-16 weeks after last period. Dates may vary on a case-by-case basis. For information about both methods, click here.

Abortions in Florida are legal up to 24 weeks after the last period. Abortions from 16-24 weeks after last period consist of an in-clinic dilation and evacuation (D&E) procedure, click here for more information.
