Information for Girls Under 18
Information for Girls Under 18
Florida law says that most girls under the age of 18 must notify one parent
before having an abortion. The law also recognizes that, for one good reason or
another, some girls cannot notify a parent. The law says that girls who cannot
inform a parent can get a court waiver from this requirement, and the PATH
Project has been set up to help.
The Path Project helps teens under the age of 18 navigate the courts so that
they can make decisions about their own reproductive health care. The PATH
Project can provide lawyers to help girls through the court process. There is no
charge for the lawyer. The court procedure is free and confidential.
